Jumu’ah: Day of Durood

‘Umair Ansari رضي الله عنه narrates that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Any individual of my Ummah who seeks blessings of Allah for me from his very heart in sincerity. Allah will return upon him ten times and elevate him by ten ranks and register for him ten good deeds, remove ten misdeeds for him. (Nasa’i: 64)
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه narrates that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: On the Day of Resurrection the most near to me is the most seeker of blessings of Allah for me.(Tirmidhi: 484)
Anas رضي الله عنه narrates that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Seek Salatblessings of Allah for me especially on Friday because Gabriel just came to me from my Lord and told me that Allah has said: No Muslim living on the earth who seeks blessings of Allah for you once but I (Allah) along with My angels bless upon him ten times. (Targhib: 498/2)
Abu Umamah رضي الله عنه narrates that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Seek blessings of Allah for me abundantly on every Friday since the Salat of myUmmah is presented before me every Friday. So the more seeker is the more dearer to me. (Targhib: 503/2)

Mi’raj: Physical or Spiritual?

Mu’jizat (Miracles)
Whenever Allah sent a Nabi (Prophet), he provided various signs which served as proof that the Nabi was authentic in his claim. These signs took forms of various unusual and wonderful feats being performed by the Nabi by the Will, Power and Command of Allah. These signs are called mu’jizat (miracles). The miracles of the Prophets alayhimus salaam were of such unique nature that no one else was able to perform them, no matter how hard he tried, and he was thus rendered reluctant and helpless and had to admit that the Nabi in question is a Divine Messenger. The word mu’jizah literally means “that which renders powerless or helpless”, and a miracle of a Nabi is called mu’jizah because the feat performed by him cannot be emulated by anyone and disbelievers are therefore left helpless.
Mu’jizat of Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم
The miracles of the previous Prophets ‘alayhimus salaam were mainly of a practical nature and were limited to their lifetime only. The miracles of our Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم on the other hand were practical in nature as well as intellectual and some of them exist up to this day, well after his demise. Because Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم is superior amongst all the Prophets alayhimus salaam, similarly his miracles are also not only greater in number but are more superior.
Mi’raj
One of the greatest and very well-known miracles of Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم is his ascension to the heavens and beyond, known as Mi’raj (ascension). This journey apart from being a miracle is a conglomeration of miracles and has been recorded in the Qur’an as well as various books of Hadeeth.
Mi’raj in Hadeeth
Hafiz Ibne Katheer rahmatullahi alayh has recorded the incident of Mi’raj from twenty-five Sahabah رضي الله عنهم. [Tafseer Ibne Katheer Vol. 3 Page 3]The well-known muhaddith, Allamah Zurqani rahmatullahi alayh states that the incident of Mi’raj is narrated by forty-five Sahabah رضي الله عنهم comprising of the Ansar and the Muhajireen. One may ask as to how the Ansar narrated this incident whilst it took place in Makkah before migration? The answer is that this event was so important and well-known amongst the Muslims that the Ansar requested its details directly from Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as is evident from a Hadeeth reported by Shaddad Ibne ‘Aws رضي الله عنه. He reports: “We said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! How were you taken for a journey by night?’” [Tirmizi] The words ‘We said’ also indicate that the conversation of Mi’raj used to take place in the midst of a large gathering. Another Ansari, Malik Ibne Sa’sa’ah رضي الله عنه narrates the story of Mi’raj in the following words: “The Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم related to them . . .” [Bukhari] It is clear that the incident of Mi’raj was well-known amongst the Sahabah رضي الله عنهم and is narrated in authentic Ahadeeth.
Mi’raj – Physical or Spiritual
The Mi’raj of Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم was physical i.e. with body and soul. He ascended the seven heavens and proceeded beyond that to the Sidratul Muntaha and further physically. In the mind of a mu’min (true believer), a doubt concerning the possibility of a physical ascent to the heavens does not occur. For a believer this is a fact which requires no logical reasoning. What doubt can there be concerning Allah’s power to do as He wishes? Nowadays with the advancement of modern technology the man is orbiting satellites and landing on the moon. If man has advanced so much, is it not possible for the Creator of man to carry His Beloved Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم physically with body and soul into the heavens and back within a very limited part of the night? Of course it is possible!
Mi’raj was Physical
1. “Glorified be He who carried His servant by night . . .” (Qur’an 17:1) This verse from the Qur’an describes the initial stages of the miraculous journey of our Beloved Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. One can clearly ascertain from the words of this verse that the Mi’raj was physical: a. Allah ta’ala initiates the verse with the word subhan which means glorified be He Whose Self is pure from all defects and frailties and is above all kinds of weakness and helplessness. He is not dependent upon any means and He is not bound by any physical laws. Those things which look extremely strange to our imagination and which our imperfect wisdom think as quite impossible are not a bit difficult before the Power and Will of Allah. Thus, from the very outset, the event of Mi’raj has been described as extraordinary and the word subhan belies the misconception that the event was only a dream. b. The journey of Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم is further expressed by the verb asra which is used for a journey of body and soul in the state of consciousness by night. This same verb is used elsewhere in the Qur’an too. In Soorah Hood and Hijr, the instruction given to Prophet Loot alayhis salaam by the Angels is: “So take away your people in a part of the night.” (11:81, 15:65)Similarly, Prophet Moosa alayhis salaam is ordered by Allah, “Take away my slaves by night.” (44:23, 20:77) In both cases, the Prophets alayhimus salaam are ordered to take their people physically with body and soul and not spiritually in dream. c. The word ‘abd (servant) is used to mean either the body only or body and soul together. It is not used to mean soul only.
2. Another verse of the Qur’an regarding Mi’raj is: “We appointed the vision which we showed thee as an ordeal for mankind.” (17:60) The word ru’ya (vision) is used for two meanings: dream or vision / view / sight. The Commentators of the Qur’an have given examples from Arabic poetry where ru’ya is used to mean vision/seeing and not dream. Imam Bukhari rahmatullahi alayh has narrated from Abdullah Ibne Abbas رضي الله عنهمa the meaning of the word ru’ya in this verse with the following words: “It (the ru’ya) was an actual eye-witness (account) which was shown to Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم the night he was taken on a journey (through the heavens)”. [Bukhari Vol. 6 page 204]
3. It is an accepted fact that when one relates a story or an event but does not say that it was a dream, it is naturally taken as an incident of consciousness. The verse of the Qur’an describing the miraculous journey and the Ahadeeth do not mention or indicate that it was a dream. Hence this incident will be considered physical in the state of awakening.
4. When the kuffar (disbelievers) of Makkah heard the details of the incident of Mi’raj, they rejected it. They jeered at the Muslims, made fun of Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and called him a liar. They asked him to describe the masjid in Jerusalem, which he had never seen before. Had it been only a dream they would neither have mocked at him, nor asked for any evidence. Similarly, there was no reason for their rejection as people often dream of strange things. It is apparent that they were asking for further details knowing that the journey was physical. Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم too, did not say that it was only a dream. Instead he substantiated his physical journey with another miracle which is reported by Bukhari and Muslim from Jabir Ibne Abdullah رضي الله عنه that Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said, “When the disbelievers of Makkah rejected my night journey to Baytul Maqdis and made queries about the details of Baytul Maqdis, I stood in the Hateem and Allah ta’ala opened the veils (between myself and) Baytul Maqdis. I was looking at it and informing them of the details they were asking for.
5. The incident of Mi’raj has been listed amongst the miracles of Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم. What is so extraordinary about travelling such long distances in a mere dream? This is sufficient to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that Rasoolullah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم travelled from Makkah to Al-Masjidul Aqsa and then ascended the heavens physically with body and soul in the state of awakening within a very limited part of the night.

Six Important Qualities

If you have spent time on the path of Allah for a longer period, then you might know this by heart already. For everyone else in our Marakiz it gets repeatedly adviced, that every ‘Amal should be done with the following 6 important qualities to get accepted by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala and to get 100% benefit from the ‘Amal.
  1. Conviction  [Yaqin]
  2. Awareness [Dehan] of Allah
  3. Motivation [Jazbah] of pleasing Allah
  4. Method [Tariqah] of Rasulullah صلی اللہ علیہ و الہ وسلم
  5. Reflection [Ihtisaar] of the Virtues
  6. Sacrifice [Mujahidah] of the Nafs
May Allah give us the ability to practise upon this! Ameen.

(کف پائیے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ و الہ وسلم

Alaykum Bisunnati
The Mu’min sacrificing himself upon the shoe-prints of Nabi,
even today the world’s treasure will be under his feet.
If the Ummah followed the Prophetic Sunnah,
then it’s boat would escape from the storm.
[Hadhrat Aqdas Maulana Hakeem Akhtar Sahab دامت برکاتہم]

Inside Our Hearts

Our Muslim names, Islamic dress and our prayers are like the sign board found outside a shop, which informs us that inside this shop, sweets, chocolates, biscuits, cakes, fruit, etc. are stocked and sold. The person reading the signboard thus expects to find what has been advertised outside, inside that shop. What would be the reaction of the person if he or she finds cow dung, horse manure and cat’s droppings inside, instead of sweets and chocolates ?
In a similar vein, our beautiful Muslim names and Islamic garb informs others that inside our hearts there is certain ‘merchandise’ in the form of firm Imaan in Allah Ta’ala and love for His Beloved Rasool e. One expects to find therein, the attributes of trustworthiness, honesty, sincerity, forgiveness, charity, Taqwa (piety), zuhd (asceticism), sabr (patience), shukr (gratitude), etc. These are the qualities and traits a person expects to find in his social dealings with us.
Our beards, kurtas, turbans, tasbeehs, the cloak, purdah, etc. are all additional signs which lay more and more emphasis on the above. What would be a person’s reaction, when instead of these virtues, he or she finds arrogance, pride, malice, greed, jealousy, etc.?

حاجت روا

سمجھتا ہے خدا کو صرف جو حاجت روا اپنا ۔
وہ غیر اللہ کے در کا کبھی سائل نہیں ہوتا ۔
“Who understands Allah alone as one’s Hajat Rawa*,
will never be a suppliant at the doors of Ghairullah.”
* Hajat Rawa = The One who fulfills needs.

Declaring the Truth [اظہار حق]

Izhar-e-Haq
Hadhrat Maulana Shah Abrarul Haq Hardoi Sahib نوراللہ مرقدہ said,
“Decrlaring the Truth was compulsory upon Ambiya علیہم السلام in every situation, even if their lives might go. Yet for ‘Ulema exists room for silence, if there’s danger of getting killed – but declaring the truth is superior.”

His Name is Muhammad

Lyrics
There is no man more dear to me
Throughout the whole of history
Than the one who was sent as a guide
Leading people from darkness to light
His message was simple and clear
That there is one god who we must all fear
Inviting people towards Allah
his name is Muhammad Mustafa
His name is Muhammad mustafa
Chorus
Bala ghal ulah
bikamalihi ka shafhat tu ja bija malihi
hassunat jami yu hisale heen
sallu alyhi wa alahi
He was the greatest man of all time
He came to teach the whole of mankind
That we must worship only one lord
Besides him there is no other god
Islam is what he came to teach
To every corner of the world did he preach
that we can all come together and pray
To the one who provides us each day
To the one who provides us each day
chorus
Bala ghal ulah
bikamalihi ka shafhat tu ja bija malihi
hassunat jami yu hisale heen
sallu alayhi wa alihi
he was a shelter for the orphans and poor
he is my only ticket to the heaven door
he confirmed all that was and before
than the whole world do I love him more
I swear if I only had a chance
To go back in time for one glance
At the face of Muhammad almeen
I would wonder whether I had a dream
I would wonder whether I had a dream
chorus
Bala ghal ulah
bikamalihi ka shafhat tu ja bija malihi
hassunat jamiha yu hisale heen
sallu alayhi wa alihi

To Feel Superior

Hadhrat Maulana Shah Abrarul Haq Hardoi Sahib نوراللہ مرقدہ said,
“When a doctor gives a Prince an injection, he doesn’t consider himself superior to the Prince. In the same way the one speaking about Deen should not consider himself superior to the listeners. Regarding the expert of a field as perfect [Akmal] is permissible, but to regard as superior isHaram. Because the criteria of virtue/superiority is based on acceptance by Allah Ta’ala [Qubuliyat inda'Allah], which can not be found out about in the Dunya.
The dignity of every believer should be in the heart. It’s not permissible for any ‘Alim or Shaykh-e-Kamil even to consider a sinful Muslim despising. If a small child urinates on the father, the clothes of the father would be considered impure but there won’t be any decrease in the dignity of the father. Hadhrat Thanvi نوراللہ مرقدہ used to say, ‘Whenever I take care of someone['s affairs], I consider him superior to myself.’
Similarly, I consider my mother & sisters and you people superior to myself too, but am [at the same time] telling the commands of Allah Ta’ala.

The Knowledgeable

On Friday Hadhrat called all the ‘graduates’ of the Jame’ah to give them some advice.
Amongst some very touching Naseehah (advice) Hadhrat mentioned the following points to us*:
1. Knowledge will only be beneficial to that person who puts his knowledge into action.
2. There should be a unmistakable difference between that person who has acquired knowledge and that person who is deprived from it; the knowledgeable should excel the latter in his character, worship, social behaviour and etiquettes.
3. It is a great Bid’ah (innovation in Religion) to neglect the obligatory commandments of Allah (Fara’idh) whilst aiming to accomplish those acts which are recommended (Nafl).
4. The person who has acquired knowledge is much in need of guidance and reformation. For this it is not essential to seek allegiance with an elder but it is necessary to seek their guidance, advice and attend their gatherings.
5. The knowledgeable is superior over the worshipper in a sense that the worship of a worshipper will be salvation for him alone whilst the knowledge of the learned will be the source of salvation of many. However, knowledge without action is not a form of guidance but one of deviation.
6. The knowledge of each individual should make him constantly aware of Allah’s omnipresence and should therefore compel him to worship Allah without any compromise. The realisation of Allah’s presence is the ultimate aim which is gained through knowledge and supported through worship
7. The ultimate source of a learned man should always be referenced to the Qur’an and Hadith. These are the origins of every ruling and it is through these guiding words that one should mould his life and set his actions.
* please note that these are not the exact words and exact advices; some of it is paraphrasing whilst others are messages of a long discussion.
May Allah give us all the vision to realise that our actions could result to the guidance and misleading of others. May Allah give us the courage to that which is according to the Shari’ah, whether we are regarded as leaders or followers.
May He free us from Pride, a barrier from seeking Knowledge and gaining His proximity. May He give us the love, value and zeal to sit in the company of the pious and benefit from their Knowledge and their spirituality. Aameen.

Importance of Islamic Education

Recently Hadhrat called all the parents of those students in the ‘Alim classes to generally discuss the decision taken by the parents to enrol their children into the ‘Alim course.
He highlighted the importance of Islamic education and its importance for the children as well as the parents. He gave an emotional and touching talk explaining the value of Islamic knowledge and the difference of children who are educated with Islamic knowledge in comparison to those who are ignorant of Islamic understanding. Many examples were giving from Hadhrat’sexperiences; some of which are paraphrased below:
  1. I was once in a car during my journey to Syria where the driver went past a small snake (palm size). The driver stopped the car and killed the snake. I asked him, why go through so much trouble to kill the small snake. He said, today the snake is small but a time will come when it will grow and start biting all the people.
  2. Once whilst in Azadville I was returning home from the Masjid when I was told by my companions that there was a ill man and we should visit him. Upon visiting him he thanked us by saying he was awaiting someone who could give him water. The man was in his last days and we assumed he had no children. But whilst getting the water we saw all his young children sitting and watching television.
  3. On one occasion I enquired about a man on his death bed who was being punched by a young lad. I was told that the young person was the son of the dying old man who was thumping the old man to retrieve from him the location and amount of his wealth that he was leaving behind.
  4. In one of the newspapers there was a printed letter from a young girl who wrote to her father from the confines of her prison cell. She wrote to inform her father that he was liable and to blame for her current situation as he had not taught her the religious obligations and had not guided her. She added that she would be punished in this world but he would be punished in the Hereafter as well.
All these incidents show us how our children will become without religious guidance and knowledge. They will become like that small snake who might seem harmless today but in the future will yearn to bite us.
This is just an indication of the benefits of Deen and Islamic knowledge. If the true benefits were known then people would send their children to Madrassah without question and there would be no place in the Darul Ulooms to accommodate these people. Like it is mentioned regarding the Salaah; people would come crawling even if they had no legs.
These are indications which I am sure you can understand and comprehend the entire depths of. Time is short and I don’t want to go into too much details. But I would like to congratulate you on sending your children to the Madrassah for this knowledge. Don’t question as to where their livelihood will come from.
Will a man in a hut with sufficient funds and livelihood ever swap places with a wealthy man who has a mansion yet has an illness which keeps him distressed? There are many incidents of such people; some people have invited me to dinner at their houses and have asked me to make Du’aa for them; despite their apparent comfort and luxury they are suffering.
On one occasion, I was visited by a man who had come in a brand-new Mercedes, he came he to seek advice about family issues and problems. Tell me of what use is this luxury and Mercedes? I am not saying that it is not permissible to have luxuries and Mercedes; may Allah give Barakah (blessing) in the wealth of the believers. What I am saying is that apparent wealth is of no value if it is does not come with peace and contentment; and this can only be found in the remembrance of Allah and educating our children in matters of Deen.
Only when they come to the Darul Ulooms and Madaaris will they be drilled with the value and importance of one’s parents; only then will they know of the punishments of mistreating their elders and parents. I teach they Sahih Bukhari here and daily we come across Ahadeeth were at times it is mentioned that Jannah lies under the feet of the mother and at times it states that your parents are your Jannah or your Jahannam.
May Allah give us all the understanding of Deen and give us the inclination to send our children to the Darul Ulooms to teach them their religion and importance of parents so that they can be the coolness of their parents’ eyes. Aameen.

5 Principles of Mr. Maududi

I know the talk delivered by Mufti Muhammad Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri (damat baraktuhum), who teaches Hadith at Darul Uloom Deoband, is a little old but I just listened now to it – after reading a post on Sunni Forum about it.
In this Bayan Mufti Saeed Palanpuri Sahab explains in an excellent way, why the Ulema of Deoband differ with Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi’s ideology on which he founded almost 66 years ago now the sect which is known to us all as Jama’at-e-Islami. But I personally think that what Mufti Sahab is pointing out can be applied to many other sects as well, especially the political-driven ones.
Any of the following five points are enough to go astray.
  1. Are actions or beliefs that all Sahabah (radhiallaho anhum ajmaeen) agreed upon to follow or not? Maududi nor any of his followers answered this yet.
  2. The whole Ummah agrees that “Qutbu Raha” of our entire Deen is the satisfaction of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Maududi Sahib replaced this through ‘the establishment of Huqumat-e-Ilahi’.
  3. Islam is not complete without any of the following three: ‘Aqidah, Amaal and Tasawwuf. (Taken from the Hadith in which Jibra’eel comes and asks Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam about Islam, Iman and Ehsan.) Unfortunately seems Jamaat-e-Islamiallergic against the latter.
  4. The concept of Modern Islam, including learning and interpretating Qur’an and Ahadith themselves.
  5. With the help of the given Aql (intelligence) one’s supposed to understand the meaning of Qur’an and Ahadith. The other way around is devistating: Qur’an and Ahadith’ meaning is what ones Aql tells.
At the end Mufti Saeed Ahmad Palanpuri (may Allah preserve him and let us benefit from him) says that many ask if Maududi was still a Muslim with such devistating beliefs and concepts, the answer to this is “yes”. But he and his sect are outside of the Ahle Sunnah wal Jama’ah.
May Allah keep us all on the right path – the path of the the Ambiya, the Shuhadah, the Siddiqeen and the Saleheen. Ameen!

Allah’s Promises of Rizq

First off all let’s agree on the meaning of Rizq by the help of what Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmed (damat barkatuhum) mentioned in one of his lectures:
“All aspects of a person’s subsistence and livelihood fall under the definition of rizq, including but not restricted to wealth, status, business and children.”
We see in this capitalist scoiety, everyone will do anything that is possible to gain their Rizq. People think they are expanding their rizq by doing haram, opening liquor shops, but they aren’t. Islam tells us the rizq is assigned at our birth and on top of that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala made five promises of Rizq. Exactly on these I’ll try to shed some light on in this topic.
1. TAQWA
“And whoever fears Allah, for him Allah brings forth a way out, and gives him provision (rizq) from where he does not even imagine…” (Surah At-Talaq: 2/3)
In reference to this Ayaat-i-Karima Mufti Muhammad Shafi’ Sahab (nawarallahu marqadahu) writes in his Tafsir Ma’ariful Qur’an the following explanation of Taqwa:
“The word taqwa primarily and literally means ‘to guard’ or ‘to refrain’. In Islamic terminology it signifies ‘to guard against sins’. When the word is related to Allah, it is translated as ‘to fear Allah’ and implies ‘to avoid disobedience of Allah and guard against sins’.”
Once, Saiyyidina Umar ibn al-Khattab (radhiallahu anho) asked Saiyyidina Ka’ab Ahbaar (radhiallahu anho): “What is the reality of Taqwa?”
Ka’ab (radhiallahu anho) said: “Have you ever passed a thorny tree?”
Umar (radhiallahu anho) answered: “Yes.”
Ka’ab (radhiallahu anho) asked: “How did you pass?”
Umar (radhiallahu anho) answered: “I passed with such care that I ensured that no thorn got caught into my hem.”
Ka’ab (radhiallahu anho) then elaborated: “In the very same way, the reality of Taqwa is for one to save himself from the thorns of sins and negligence.”
So, this is the first thing with which Allah Ta’ala promised the righteous believers, that He will ease every difficulty of theirs and provide for them all their needs from resources they never expected or thought about.
Listen to this Jumu’ah Bayan by Hahdrat Maulana Yunus Patel Sahib from South Africa on the topic of “Promise of Rizq from unknown sources upon Taqwa”.
2. DAILY FIVE PRAYERS
Everyone who ever spend time in Jama’at should know that through the daily five prayers Allah Ta’ala makes the rizq easy – if you don’t then you should definitely spend time in the way of Allah. Anyone for 4 months? Anyway…
A hadith states: “Salaah is the cause of Allah’s pleasure: It is a beloved act of the Malaikah (angels), a sunnah of the Ambiyaa (alayhimus salam), the nur (light) of ma’rifah is achieved by it, du’aas are accepted, and barakah in rizq is attained.”
Once a Sahabi (radhiallahu anho) said: “When the household of Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) experienced difficulty in their expenses he commanded the performing of salaah, and recited this aayah:
“And enjoin upon thy people worship, and be constant therein. We ask not of thee a provision: We provide for thee. And the sequel is for righteousness.” (Surah Ta Ha: 132)”
3. ISTIGHFAR
Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) has said in another Hadith: “The one who seeks forgiveness for Muslim males and females from Allah Ta’aala twenty six or twenty five times every day, Allah Ta’ala will count that person among those whose Du’a is accepted, and through the barakah of whom those on earth gain rizq (sustenance).”
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) not only made himself 70 till 100 times a day Istighfar and Taubah, but as well enjoined the Muslims to ask Allah Ta’ala frequently for forgiveness. One of the many virtues of Istighfar, that can be found in Ahadith, is that Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala deals with the person engaging much in Istighfar in a similar way like with the servant attaining Taqwa.
Sayyidina Abdullah bin Abbas (radhiallahu anho) narrates that Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “The one who (regularly) says Istighfaar, that is, frequently repent to Allah Ta’aala for sins committed, Allah ‘Azza Wa-Jalla will open a path from poverty and difficulties. All sorrow and hardship will be removed, and in its place prosperity and contentment granted. One will receive sustenance from unimagined and unexpected sources.”
4. TAWAKKUL ON ALLAH
Tawakkul on Allah could be translated as sincere reliance on Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. In our context right now it means to be 100% convinced that Allah will definitely give me the rizq, that He has fixed for me. If all creations of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala (malaikah, jinns, humans, animals etc.) come together to change something about that, they simply can not.
Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) has said: “If you have proper and sincere tawakkul (reliance) on Allah Ta’ala. He will grant you rizq like the birds are given rizq, who come out of their nests in the morning with empty stomachs and return to their nests in the evening with a full stomach. Allah Ta’aala says:
“And whoever places his trust in Allah, He is sufficient for him.” (Surah At-Talaq: 3)”
That’s how the Ayaat quoted above continues. Subhan’Allah, what an amazingly illustrious example our beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) has given, may Allah shower His blessings upon him and his family.
Sayyidina Imraan bin Husayn (radhiallahu anho) narrates from Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) that: “The person who (sincerely) relies on Allah Ta’aala, Allah Ta’aala will suffice for all the responsibilities of that person. Rizq will be received from such sources, whence it cannot be imagined. The one who relies on the (material) world, Allah Ta’aala hands that person over to the world.”
Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Zakariyya Kandhalvi (rahimullah ta’ala) mentions in his notorious book Fadhail-e-Sadaqat the following saying of Sayyidina Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), which emphasis on relying on the power of Allah Ta’ala:
“One who wishes to become the most strongest, should make tawakkul on Allah Ta’aala. One who wishes to become the most respectful, should adopt taqwa (piety). The one who wishes to become the most wealthiest, should rely more in the qudrah (power) of Allah than that which is in ones possession.”
5. INFAAQ FISABILILLAH
It’s no secret that when spending or giving charity in the path of Allah, Allah Ta’ala according to His boundless mercy gives back much times more. There are many Ahadith regarding this, but to spare you time I’ll just type the incident of Hadhrat Sayyidina Ali (karamallahu wajuhu) and a beggar which will make you understand this concept very easily.
Hadhrat Ubaydullah bin Muhammad bin Aisha narrates that when a beggar came to the Ameerul Mu’mineen Hahdrat Ali (radhiallahu ano), he said to (his son) Hadhrat Hasan (radhiallahu anho) or Hadhrat Husayn (radhiallahu anho), “Go to your mother and tell her to give one of the six Dirhams that I had left with her.” His son went and later returned with the message that she said, “You had left the six Dirhams to purchase flour.” Hadhrar Ali (radhiallahu anho) said, “The Iman of a person cannot be true until he has more trust in that which is in Allah’s hands than that which is in his hands.” He then sent a message to her to send all six Dirhams. When she did so, he gave it all to the beggar.
Hadhrat Ali (radhiallahu anho) had not yet even changed his posture when a man arrived selling a camel. “How much for the camel?” Hahdrat Ali (radhiallahu anho) asked. “A hundred and forty Dirhams,” the man replied. Hadhrat Ali (radhiallahu anho) told the man to tie the camel by him with the understanding that he would pay for it after a while. The man tied the camel there and then left. Another man then passed by and asked who the camel belonged to. When Hadhrat Ali (radhiallahu anho) informed him that the camel was his, the man asked him whether he would sell it. “Certainly,” replied Hadhrat Ali (radhiallahu anho). “How much?”, he asked. “For two hundred Dirhams,” was the reply. The man agreed to buy it, handed over the two hundred Dirhams and then took the camel.
Hadhrat Ali (karamallahu wajuhu) then paid a hundred and forty Dirhams to the man whom he had promised to pay and then returned with sixty Dirhams to (his wife) Hadhrat Fatima (radhiallahu anha). Seeing the money she asked, “What is this?” Hadhrat Ali (radhiallahu anho) replied, “This is what Allah promised us on the lips of His Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam):
“Whoever brings (carries out) a good act will recieve ten times as much.” (Surah An’aam: 160)”
Subhan’Allah, do I need to say anything more except that this is no fairy tale but a true incident?! The Ulema-i-Kiram have explained many more halal ways of increasing the barakah in your Rizq, but these are the five big points I’ve been taught:
Taqwa, Namaz, Istighfar, Tawakkul and Infaq Fisabilillah.
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot Asbab. There are no promises of Allah attached to Asbab, but our Yaqeen nowadays is made on them. May Allah forgive us and bring all these attributes into our life. Ameen!

Children should memorize the Qur’an

  1. Memorizing the Holy Qur’an creates strength in the child’s intellectual skills.

  3. Eternal salvation from poorness and hunger gained through the removing the shortness of sustenance. (content of a Hadith)
  4. Parents will be given a crown on the Day of Judgement, whichs light will be more than that of the sun.

Let your children by all means memorize the Holy Qur’an. A Hafiz child easily progresses in worldly education and the exams of the fifth grade become easy, too.
